The Pacific Coast Challenge Series hosted its first race of the season at the All American Speedway on April 18th. John Moore had the fast time of a 13.273, breaking the track record previously held by Jeremy Doss. 15 year old Hunter Corbitt qualified 8th out of the 20 car field. John Moore pulled an 8 car invert, putting Corbitt on the pole.
The race started off with a wreck in the first turn, which caused a major delay and a red flag. Mike Beeler took the early lead but later came into contact with Travis Milburn, sending them to the rear. Hunter Corbitt ran 2nd and 3rd most of the race, looking to make a move for the lead in a late race restart, but with the closing laps had a tire go down and finished 8th. Sharron Mansch won the race, as she took the lead late in the race and lead until the end. For the 2015 Season, Corbitt will move onto late model racing. He plans to run the PCS Series (Pacific Coast Challenge), but include few to many races outside the series. Including but not limited to: Kern County Raceway, Madera Speedway, and more! Stay tuned for the release of the 2015 schedule on the NEW Hunter Corbitt Racing facebook page! Karting: Plans to continue go-karting are scarce, with no major events planned.
