MADERA SPEEDWAY... The fastest third mile in the west. The LOP/SRL season opener at Madera Speedway was great race to come watch. Not only was the SPEARS Tour series a great race, but the legends put on a good show. Jeremy Wood was had the fast time through qualifying by a tenth, and Cameron Austin and Brandon Weaver followed up 2nd and 3rd. Becasue Jeremy Wood qualified pole, he was the man to pull the invert number. To every ones surprise, Jeremy pulled a 14 car invert. This put Blaine Purkins on pole. Blaine was not able to show up to tech on-time, so he was put to the rear of the field. This put Eddie Garone on pole with Eric Olsen in 2nd and Hunter Corbitt in 3rd. As the race continued, Chase Majdic looked to have the car to beat, but a bad stroke up luck pulled his bumper off, and he was forced to pit. As the race started to come to an end, Cameron Austin had a close lead, while Jeremy Wood, coming from 14th, charged to the front of the pack only to run out of laps. Cameron Austin took the win with Jeremy Wood finishing 2nd, with Tony Mangini, Tim Mangini, and Brandon Weaver rounded out your top 5.
